UMS White Paper Series on Arts-Academic Integration

I commissioned and edited an eight-part series of white papers, written and researched by dance scholar/artist Veronica Stanich, on arts-integrative teaching strategies for university faculty. The series is comprised of how-to guides as well as case studies of arts-integrative teaching projects from across the curriculum.

“Arts in Context: UMS in the Classroom” Faculty Guide

For several seasons, I researched and wrote “Arts in Context: UMS in the Classroom,” a guide to the UMS season for University of Michigan faculty designed to facilitate connections between academic courses and our performances. For each UMS presentation, I provided suggested curricular connections, links to and citations for relevant contextual materials from popular and scholarly sources, and discussion prompts.

Oregon Shakespeare Festival Learning Guides

I created general audience learning guides for two Oregon Shakespeare Festival productions, published in their Illuminations season guide. The first, The Tenth Muse, examined the legacy of Mexican poet/playwright Sor Juana Ines de la Cruz; the second, A Wrinkle in Time, was a new adaptation of Madeline L’Engle’s classic children’s book.
